Descanso Gardens — a 150 acre botanical garden just outside of Los Angeles — chose RIOS to develop a Master Plan that would propel them into the next phase of their development. I designed and coordinated a 6-foot-square art piece illustrating RIOS’s visionary proposal.
Working large scale with physical materials allowed the team to communicate to stakeholders the emotional impact their proposed changes would have. Involving the entire project team in the project also generated enthusiasm and helped each member develop a deep understanding of the full scope.
I also aided the team in collecting all their findings and proposals into a cohesive and impactful document that will guide the Gardens for many years.
