In early spring when oak leaves are only small buds, the female oak shothole leafminer fly uses her ovipositor to punch holes and lap up the juices that seep out. As the leaf grows, these holes grow much lager. Through delicate embroidery, I aim to highlight her work and bring attention to the natural shapes and textures of the forest floor.
